Jagannath Snan Yatra
Snana Yatra (Bathing Festival) for Lord Jagannath is observed a few weeks before the Rath Yatra.
The deities are ceremonially bathed with sanctified water, after which they are offered special garments and rest.
The festival is rooted in the Puri tradition but is celebrated in ISKCON temples with arati and chanting.
Devotees attend the bathing ceremony and participate in subsequent kirtans and offerings.
At Ahilya Nagar we present a morning program and invite families to attend the bathing ceremonies.
How ISKCON Celebrates
At ISKCON Ahilya Nagar we celebrate with kirtan, scriptural discourses, community feasts and devotional service. All are welcome.
